What We Do
Daily Morning Prayer
Monday to Friday (and most Saturdays) Morning Prayer from the Book of Common Prayer is said at 9:00am by lay members of the church. All are welcome to join us in this Daily Office.
Sunday Worship
8:00 am - Rite I Eucharist from the Book of Common Prayer (this one has no music)
10:30 am - Rite II Choral Eucharist (this one has music and hymns)
Music Ministry
includes our Choral instruction and children's choir. The Choir participates in the 10:30 am Sunday worship service (except in the summer) and has Evensong at regular times throughout the year. During Advent a service of Lessons and Carols is presented. Organ recitals are scheduled Wednesdays during Lent and a Festival Eucharist is on Easter Sunday.
Music from St Stephens
this is a weekly radio program on WVIA radio that highlights some of the various Choral Concerts, Band Concerts, Recitals and other musical events that take place regularly.
Clothing Closet
One of our ministries that serves approximately 150 families per month from the downtown region and Luzerne County is our Clothing Closet: a unique, free clothing center that relies on donations of new and gently used clothing. The closet is open Tuesdays 3:00pm to 7:00pm and Wednesdays Noon to 4:00pm. Donations can be dropped off any time during office hours (Mon thru Friday 10:00am to 3:00pm)
Food Pantry
Another free ministry serving 180 families per month in Luzerne County, relying on food from our local Food Bank; CEO, along with donations and food drives. The panty is located in the former REACH section of the church and can be accessed Monday through Friday Noon to 4:00pm.
